ya its not loud or anything its just like a small pop you can hear. my mechanic said it might be a bearing going bad?

it could be a cv axel starting to go bad. also check your lug nuts to see if they are tight.

if it only happens when braking, I'd guess it's a brake issue. is the noise coming from the front or rear? My guess would be the pad is hanging, and when it finally lets go back to the open position that's causing the pop. Generally means there's gunk in the caliper piston, meaning a caliper rebuild. Replacement parts are the cylinder boot and piston seal, plus labor unless you can do it yourself. Should be a couple hundred to repair at most.

I agree with above..either or really..but just when brake release does sound like the brake caliper.
