I have megan headers and cant decide what axleback to go with that will help eliminate some if not all the rasp from the headers. The question is if i custom make a axleback section with a y-pipe going to 2 mufflers, say dynomax, it will quiet down my beast? Theroreticaly i think it can work, dividing exhaust gases to two mufflers, but will it even be worth the work. Want to eliminate any guess work, which is common with exhausts. "Better to measure twice and cut once, not measure once and cut twice."
And we are not talking about adding resonators( felt that coming)

It's not the mufflers that will remove rasp - it's the Cat and Resonators. If you're switching just the axelback section, it might be best to go with a magnaflow muffler. A Y-pipe with 2 mufflers wouldn't make any difference.
The best thing to do is to put on a full catback exhaust system with a large resonator.

or just slap a turbo on there lol
I had a megan header, and I also had a DC header for a while - the megan sounded so much better than the DC.
You could ask a local muffler shop to install the resonator from a deisel truck. ;-)

Yep, even though you didn't want to hear it, resonators will help out a lot.

i vote turbo to get rid of it.... makes it sound way better... i have messed with so many different set ups you will never get rid of it unless you go back to stock manifold..... or add a turbo.....

I think you all are right, turbo is the way to go, just got a spare motor and i will be building it for high boost, let you all know how it goes. thanks for the input, even that idea about the diesel resonator:grin:

Yes - turbo headers don't make rasp... and the turbo sound is awesome :D

Just add a 16" resonator or two and your rasp will be gone
