has anyone installed coilovers on their xB themselves? Is there anything I should be aware of or watch out for? Any DIYs available?
Im hoping to do this next weekend and dont wanna go in blind.

I haven't even ordered mine yet. I know a couple people here have installed coilovers, but as far as tips and tricks I don't know much. Have you checked ClubxB?

From what I understand it should be easier than a spring install because you don't have to remove the springs from the front struts which is a total pain in the ass.

Yeah I was looking through some of their stuff, but couldnt find a DIY. My dad has a lift in his garage, and he's about 50 feet from a Expert Tire, they're a shop that specializes in stuff like that so I figure if I run into any troubles I'll just run over there.

I just got these in the mail yesterday. Everything looks 100% brand new and perfect, so we will see how the install goes.

I was thinking like the old skool overload springs when I saw coil overs. Now I see what your talking about. It be about the same amount of work as doing a spring install. Maybe a little easier on the front assuming the kit you got has new struts.

yeah it looks like the only thing I need to do is put the rear section together and then installing them.

Dang! That's an expensive setup...are you going to road race that thing? :mrb:

Make sure you have cash to go get an alignment when you are done. When one of the guys here did his coils, his alignment was so bad he had to hold the wheel side ways to go straight. I think Kelvin is on K-Sport too, but in a tC

Gotta get a tC guys...

Here's a pdf link for install instructions

Hardest part is going to be adjusting the suspension once it's installed. And keeping it clean and free from corrosion.

Those maybe cheaper but these look pretty sweet! Have more adjustment to them too.

The install wasnt bad, took me a 3 friends about 2 hours total, plus time to adjust. If you have a rear sway bar it makes it more difficult getting the rear shock in and out, just having 1 more hole to line up sucks. I recommend these to anyone who wants a stiff ride and the freedom of high adjustment.

Does the rear sway do much in a torsion bar car?

Phobic

yeah, it does a lot to help cut down on body roll and makes taking sharp turns much easier.

What cars have torsion bars on the rear?
