Just wanted to post this up here - Congrats go out to Brett aka brett561tc on ScionLife. He ran a 11.7 @ 124mph to take second in the Pro F/I class at IFO in Gainsville, FL. He recalled in his post on SL hearing the guy in the tower at the track mention his car as "The sleeper of the year" lol. Just wanted to share this with everyone over here. BTW his car is primarily stock - I believe hes pulled some of the interior but the car is still a street driven car. Hes running a built bottom end, 60-1 turbo at 17 psi I believe - making right aroudn 400whp. As far as I know this is the fastest non-sponsor-backed tc :D Heres a video of the run.

so if he is runin a built bottom end and a turbo kit, the car its no longer stock its been moded, anyways its good to see that there is some fast TCs out there that are not full drag cars, maybe some day i do that on mine

Are the wheels stock? I can't tell in the video, but I'm thinking they're not...

The people who know motorsports/drag racing know what I mean by stock :) As in not a drag car haha - so no the front wheels arent stock - i think the back ones are - front wheels arent stock simply because they dont make slicks that will fit on a stock tc wheel

So why is the definition of "stock" being argued?

well im confused on what stock car is and if thats arguing ok, and to me anything thats been mod to go faster its no longer stock, i really hate when people say that they are stock when a stock tc will only run 15.5 if no 16.0

Ok so to solve the confusion - what I meant by "stock" was a vehicle resembling the oem vehicle. As in using the same motor, interior, chassis, panels, drivetrain, etc. Sorry for any confusion.

:deadhorse: lol
My definition of stock is: As it came out of the assembly line.
A car is no longer stock when you alter the vehicle's looks or engine, a non factory boosted car is no longer stock, in this case the car we are talking about is not stock, you could change your term to "sleeper" so others don't get confused and mad about it lol. if the body of the car hasn't been altered and it pretty much looks stock at the eyes of people who don't know it is boosted and runs 11s, which by the way that is very very impressive , then it is a sleeper.

I guess more formally i was referring to the "stock" definition used by the NHRA - they dont have a weight/hp sheet for toyotas but i have a feeling his car would qualify as stock.

One, he did mention sleeper. He also said "primarily" stock. Not fully stock.
No reason this should be being discussed in this thread at all since the topic isn't stock or not.
BTW, Ivan your definition has no merit, because you don't have any say when it actually matters.
