Wheels or a Header/S-pipe/Damper setup.
Wheels would be the Enkei J10s (hot)..
or I'd probably be going with the MMW header/s-pipe simply because I don't want to fabricate my own fix for the CEL and then the Ingall's Damper.
The cost is virtually the same providing I stick with a 17x7 wheel size.
I won't be getting my turbo any time in the near future since I spent my funds on an apartment instead, lolz. But I want to make the car look better and be a bit quicker so meh.

Without FI, the dampener is not really needed so you can save a few bucks there. My opinion is the Header/S-pipe combo. It will give looks when the hood is popped but the extra HP can be felt.........

I almost don't want to do the header/s-pipe because that would be the end of simple bolt-ons :p
I'll probably end up doing that though. Quickiness > Lookiness :p

Just say no to the stiffy... if you search through ScionLife, someone posted an diy urethane motor mounts, better than the stiffy, and cheaper too. just takes time

So you don't do it cuz there wouldn't be much else besides that for bolt on performance..... not making much sense here..... :P There is also exhaust you forgot about......

Just say no to the stiffy
Damn. This piece of advice could have saved me a lot of trouble.

I've already got a cat-back I picked up from CreativeCompacts almost a year ago. The next time I upgrade it will be either A) never if I decide to trade up or B) to a custom 3in when I turbo.
So far, performance wise...
Fidanza Flywheel
Umnitza Intake
CC Catback / Magnaflow exhaust
Avon Tech M550 tires (huge performance upgrade from stock)
TWM Stage 2 short shifter
I could swap the intake for an Injen but there really isn't a point for that since I wouldn't really gain anything except engine bling, I could probably find a better exhaust since the version I got is just as twisty as the stock exhaust, just sounds so nice. I could swap the clutch for something a bit stronger as prep for turbo/super/whatevercharger since that would seriously save on install costs later (I'll bolt shit on, but I won't touch the transmission/engine internals)..
I could go with wider tires (17x8) if I wait a bit longer since there aren't a lot of them that I know of (in fact, only one I know of that actually comes as 17x8 48 offset is FN 01rc or something to that effect from 5Zigen. They look SECKS but I think they're near 200 a pop ;)
Failing all of the above, I save up $12,000, pay off the car. Swap out all the stuff I still have stock items for and trade-in for a WRX (since they're easier to drop power in to than the STi), Evo X (if it's out), 350z (if they're not as cramped as I've heard), or if I really get deep into my current business, an M3. I'm not holding my breath on that, but hey, dreams are good.
I don't really have a plan for this car other than looking subtley cool and putting around 300-350, or enough to have fun with, while at the same time, keeping a relatively reliable setup so things like driving from home to as far as Sacramento or so remain possible.
A turbo may put a small damper on that, but I trust in Sound Performance's setup (if I turbo, it's their kit I'm getting without a doubt) since they only run 7psi (same as stock TRD Supercharger) to put down 260-270 by it's own self.
Maybe I'm reading too much into my own situation :p

If you want 17x8's EdgeRacing.com has some Raze R74's in 17x8 +48.
Only colors available are Gunmetal and Gold, but they're relatively cheap ($134 each)

Plus there's also Enkei... The RP03's like Ed has, or the Nt03's...

Or the RS M

Not subtle enough, but thanks for posting those. More options is always good.
I so dig the J10 though....this is a big image:

Injen Intake
MMW Headers/spipe
Megan V2 Exhaust
ZPI Lightweight pully
I think you would be gain maybe 25-30whp with all of those. That is the setup i would get.

I'd gain probably 10whp since I already have everything but the header/s-pipe and I will not but an undampened crank pulley on my car. I can't afford to replace engine internals so I won't take that risk.

yikes 48 offset you need like a 40...
Krdshrk
06-01-2006, 09:59 AM
No... not with 17x8's. +40 offset would rub. +45 is the minimum. +48 is ideal.
17x7's you can go with as little as a +35 offset. That's how I roll.

I'd rather have them in far enough that I won't rub when the car is loaded with stuff that out to the point where it's nice and slick but grinds pure fender when the car is loaded :p

But how many people fully load these cars?
Krdshrk
06-01-2006, 08:56 PM
Believe me, Keith - you may run ok but I prefer to err on the side of safety.
And yes, I do load my car fully. That's why I don't have a nice custom sound system in the trunk.... I can only swing the 2 small boxes that I have cuz I move servers and computers for work.

So do I from time to time........since my system is in place of my backseat, I am still cool with it though......atleast until I get my NOS set up....... ;)
