Try and find someone thats done it before to help you. Im sure most will agree the rear springs are easy, the fronts are a little more time comsuming.

I would recommend Tein, or Tanabes for maximum drop. But it depends on your local road conditions.

And believe me when I say a dropped xA looks 10000% better than stock.

I totally agree. Dropping the xA makes a world of difference. New wheels make a huge difference too if you are still rocking hubcaps.

mine looked like a off road vehicle before I dropped it.....Tanabe DF210s made a world of difference....

Wheels and the drop is very nice and does a lot to change the look. I went with tein basic coil overs, but I found the spring rate in the back to be kinda squishy. Also I personally liked having the tint done. (the first thing I did).

DROP IT ... It will make a huge difference in how it looks and drives.

First decided how low you want to go. TRD is a nice first level drop (about 1"). You can drop 2" + with Goldlines. I had Goldlines and had to learn to drive very carefully on some streets being that low. The TRD is great for ride comfort and not too low.

You might want to decide what direction you want to go with your car. It will help you decide where your money will be spent. No direction is wrong, but it need to be YOUR direction.

:aha: Definately go with the TRDs if you're going to have to deal with gravel driveways! My suggestion: drop, wheels, front strut bar & rear sway bar.

I know people may disagree with me, but I think lowering the car is a good idea. lol

Fairly inexpensive mod (less than $200) and is fairly easy to do with someone that has done it before. Makes xA's look MUCH better. Next should be rims. Have fun

Disagree? Guess you didnt read what the rest of us said...

Hahaha I think the first mod if you want to lower your car should always be to lower it. From thier you determine rims that will fit, and it gives the car a much more agressive look! :weight:

It was a joke man....jeez :dots:

Haha. Don't worry, I read what everyone else said. I just wanted to say something more creative than simply "drop it". :mrorange:

Well, our engine is such a dawg I think the only thing that would really work would be a transplant. The only way you gonna make an xA a "street demon" is drop a hemi in it! LOL My CAI was the biggest waste of money yet, no noticeable affect. You might look into turbocharging it, but that's expensive and our frail internals aren't made for much abuse. I've just focused on light weight rims and suspension mods.

damn. that just sux. i guess i'll just have to work on the weight reduction and suspention. thankx for the heads up on the cai.

Well, that's MY opinion. Others swear they get from 5 to 100 more HP from their CAI! It DOES sound bad with my TRD exhaust. I would suggest you always talk to and check out other people's rides in person before you make a decision based on some comment(s) you see on the Internet. Good luck and have fun.

cold air intake... You need more coming in before you need a bigger hole for it to go out of !!!!

i dont think anyone here has suggested it but yet but i think dropping it would be a good first mod. Gets rid of the roller skate look!

(lol)

After that, my (cheap) first mod would be some headlight covers

my first (mid level) mods would be a hyper medallion exhaust or more into the suspension like sway and strut bars

my first (big) mod would be coilovers or wheels!

yeah due to my fiscal situation i think im just going to have to wait on everything right now. i think im going to try to paint my head board this weekend. if it works i'll post some pics.
dropping my baby is still on the top of my list of to-do's.

The first thing i did was wheels and tires. You don't want to drop it only to find out that you don't have clearance. Once you know exactly what size wheels and tires you are running, then you will see how much drop you really need. I never regretted going in that order.

Then i dropped it on a set of JIC Magic coilovers. However I do not recommend coilovers unless you plan to run laps or drift (ha!) in your xA.

All our guys who use s-techs love em.

Although dropping it may make it look better, you have to be careful... a little too careful for my tastes. I definitely suggest new rims and tinting. I put konigs on mine and tossed the plastic hub caps. it made my Xa look 10 times sweeter!
