iPhone 3Gs cable

Hi, i hope this is the right place for this post and i searched for some sort of answer on here and google about using the 3gs with the ipod cable that comes in the scion. My friend has the original iphone and it works fine with all wheel controls but when i use my 3gs it does not work at all anyone know if there is a different cable or any way to get around this?

Which year/model car do you have? I have an '08 tC and an iPhone 3gs, and have no difficulties, except the harness does not charge my iPhone while in IPOD mode with the hu.

you can always buy this its plugs into the phone and the cable and coverts the voltage, works on all the new ipods, alpine also makes one, i use the alpine one but they are like 59.95

ive seen this scosche one at target before but this should let you charge if that is your issue

Thanks for the reply's i have a 09 tC and i just want to be able to control the ipod portion of the 3gs through the steering wheel and HU, but still be able to recieve calls and data. I made an aux cable but when using the with the iphone it messes up the sound and i have to retune the thing after i switch back to a regular ipod or the radio.

Anyone have similar issues maybe its just the phone it bad i dont know

Hmmm... this calls for some more research....

I have an 08 xD with the Nav system from Scion. Mine plays fine, I just get the lil warning that says, the phone will not work or charge. I like the option David posted, but it says it won't deal with the issue of the phone not working. I'll see what I can get from our fine friends at Apple!

I just called Apple to ask this question and they laughed and said it is a Dealership issue. So no help from them, maybe someone else will have luck.
