those don't look like vrd's. you mean vrd distributed the ones you bought. personally i'm a big fan of modified stock housings so thats my choice

gotcha. i thought i recalled vrd being the first ones to sell them right? none of these companies make their own lights. the anzo headlights and taillights are not made by anzo :).. vrd is what they are commonly known as.

i'd go with the modified stock

but, IMO, all of the other replacement lights that are out there right now are no better then crap. so i will always go with stock. unless its the new 2008 tC stock then i would choose 2005-2007 stock as the 2008 stock are only slightly better then ebay ugly.

nope. they've been on ebay before vrd started selling them. but even then you don't say a ps3 is a best buy unit.

definitely go with the modified stock headlights - the new ones look terrible!
I'm not a fan of the new ones at all. Sorry - I just don't like em.

Custom is always better - build it, don't buy it, right guys?

the new ones are custom :).. below is a link to see them prior to me getting ahold of them. i tinted the eyebrow and sidemarker, i repainted the bezel to the factory tc's bezel color, not the flat black, i retrofitted the halos. the halos in these things go out like crazy, they are 2 very tiny leds and arent worth a crap. so i fitted them with ccfl's. (everything on my car is custom by the way :) )im thinking about testing a set of HID's in them since ive heard hids run at lower temps then regular headlights. depending on how that looks i will make a decision and sell the other one or put it on my girls car. i also have a set of anzos on the way within the next week or so and the only thing wrong with them is the leds in the eyebrow so i will be modifying those as well. we will see what happens.. unfortunately out of the 4 forums ive posted these on i have had a complete 50/50 split on the decision.

ok, so the new ones are customized too, but who can tell? You bought em online, they're aftermarket headlights. Everyone knows the stock tC headlights don't come with halos. That's just my opinion though - I have yet to see a decent set of aftermarket headlights for the tC. I would definitely stick with your custom stockers.

i agree, there are no good looking aftermarket headlights for the tc. i got these because they are the better looking ones and i put my twist on them. believe me the pictures do not do them justice. the halos are not blue by the way, they are bright purple, the color of a UV bulb. so they definitely stand out more then you could imagine. the stock halos look good too, dont get me wrong. but i want HIDs and i wont put those in the stock headlights.

for nebster i havnt attempted a retrofit yet but its on my to-do list. i havnt seen a good one that i really liked yet, i think they look awkward.

Why not? I did it on my 06, and they worked beautifully - small stray scatters, but nothing to complain about.

actually i dont like putting HIDs in housings not made for them but i will admit that the tC does the best job of handling them that i have seen from a reflector housing.

im fine with my silverstars though, they are pretty enough for me.

I miss my HIDs bad. I need new ballasts - anyone know where I can get some for cheap?

the HID's are going in the projector ones, not the factory ones. they say not for HID use but thats due to melting. these will not melt, they are lower wattage hids, run cooler then halogens.

i was refering to the stock reflector housings and not the VRD ones, the way i see it if you have the spiffy looking lens you might as well try it.

man alot of you dont fully read :(.. "CUSTOM" vrd's vs my factory customs. those arent VRD halos :).. have you ever seen vrds that look like mine? purple halos? charcoal bezel? tinted eyebrow and sidemarker? they arent factory vrd's. yes they might burn out, but that is in due time. they are ccfl's. vrd's are normally LED's..
