What do you all think of these rims??? 18" ADR Phantom in Black:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v203/2k1tib/rims.jpg

By the way my car is lowered on Tein S-Techs.

Would they rub or anything on the fenders? I don't wanna get a real low profile tire cause the streets where I go to work suck with all the potholes and crap.

If you get 18s, the tires are going to be pretty low profile no matter what. How wide are the wheels and what's the offset?

Is there any sort of polished lip or are they solid black?

they have a polished lip with a machined face, the offset is 40MM and the width is 7.5.

Heres a bigger pic of the wheels Al

Oh, that makes a little more sense... I thought you chopped a pic of different color wheels and said you were getting black. :)

I think you should be OK with 225/40/18 for tires. Or if you want not-as-low-profile, you could go with a 235/40/18 and also get a wider tire. It's going to affect your speedo by just under 2mph with the 235s (the 225s will make it off by about 1mph).

yea tirerack brought up the 225/40 on the site, I think thats what I am going to go with. What do you think of the rims? I was also thinking of the Konig Unknowns but I have seen a couple of tC's with them and I wanna be a little different.

The rims are nice... the Unknowns are pretty popular for tCs I think... though I suppose that's good and bad when you think about it.

Thanks scionchick.

A couple more questions:

Will I need spacers for them?

and will I need Hubcentric rings?

one more, is there any special type of lug nut that needs to be used? I was looking for the Spline-Style lugs so that they don't round out if they get stuck.

Spacers? Wouldn't bother... with the offset being 5mm less stock, that will push the wheels out more and the wider wheel will push it out just a little more. Should be at least kind of close to flush and look nice.

Hubcentric rings you could look into, they're usually not very expensive and could save some minor headaches down the road. Not totally "required" though.

I don't know too much about lug nuts... generally most "tuner" lugnuts will work but you could check with the manufacturer or even tirerack and see what they recommend.

cool thanks for answering my questions Al. I'll have to look into it more and save the cash up for them.

Don't need spacers. The hub rings and lug nuts should come with them if you buy from a reputable dealer. You'll need tuner lugs.

Axis wheels are Expensive and too many people are sporting them for my liking.

Greg - did you want to stay with Silver or Silver/Black? Maybe some Black wheels with a polished lip? Those are mad hot now...

Yea I know they should come with them, but I am not going to be buying them as a package, I am getting everything seperate, Rims from one place and tires and everything else from another. My friend can get me some good deals on tires.
