Before I begin I just want to thank spider 13 for his advice

Standard legal release you are responsible for your own destruction um, construction!!!

Also sorry for poor quality pics taken from nokia camera phone too poor with this xB payment and tuition for a digital camera :(

EDIT: In starting this how to be sure to remove the wiper by pulling off plastic cover and removing the bolt along with the wiper

1. With trunk (tailgate) open carefully pull tabs until they pop off.

2. After tabs are removed you will see wiper motor remove 3 bolts holding motor to the rear and undo the one electrical connector

3. With motor removed undo four screws (power tool or alot of torque needed to undo screws). Carefully remove cover until you see gearing inside.

4. Slide silver arm to correct hole to allow the arm to be extended this might be year specific (doing this on an 06) for me it was the top right hole (CAREFUL do not move white gear I did this in the beginning and had to redo everything  )

5.Carefully reattach everything but dont bolt down the wiper. Adjust wiper. (I didn't do this and wasted another half hour figuring out why wasn't working properly.

6. Bolt down wiper enjoy (have to send a shout out to all my scikotic peeps)

xBs have a rear wiper? hmmph. I've had my box for 14 months and never saw a reason to turn it on. I'm just waiting till I can afford body work and paint (kit, etc) to make it go away from good.

edit: meant to add, the pics aren't really too bad for a cam phone. Nice write up.

I'm kind of confused... what does this do?

It makes the wiper rest at an angle instead of horizontal.

That should be the end of your questions on this one because they are only going to get more stupid. I saw where this thread went on SL.

I did that this past weekend, while waiting for my friends car to cool down (to install a header).

Took 5 min.

I want to take off the wiper, but I need to find out what to plug the hole with.

I seem to remeber like three posts like this on scion life. I think one of them may tell what to plug the hole you get after taking off the wiper with...

Hate to open an old thread...but is it possible to make it so it just spins and not go back and forth?

i have no idea what you are planning, but it sounds whacky. dont tell me you got the jdm vip chandelier and are going to make it a glow spinner.

I opened the motor and its almost impossible, because the gear spins which pulls a bar that makes the wiper go back and forth...crap, i should have taken a pic with it open.
