ok guys I've got a crap load of leds to solder, 200 total to solder and 200 capicitors(diodes?) to solder with them I'm wanting to solder wires to them so they would basicly be pre wired for when I'm ready to install them anyone got any ideas what I need to do? never soldered leds before wondering if theres a right/wrong way to do this

1) Strip the wire you wish to solder to the LED.
2) Twist the LED lead and the wire together (or wrap the wire around the LED lead). Keep in mind that the longer lead of the LED is the + lead.
3) Using the tip of the soldering iron, heat the wire/lead twisted combo until it's hot enough to melt the solder. Do not use the iron tip to directly melt the solder, you must heat the joint to the point where it will melt the solder.
4) Allow a decent amount of solder to penetrate the joint, then remove both the unmelted solder and the heat.
5) Allow to cool.
The "twists" are more to keep the joint secured until you can solder it. So, you don't NEED to twist.
If you want to JW, you can bring your stash by some time and I'll show you how to solder. I can also help you out if you want...just leave some here or whatever.
ALSO... You realize that you don't NEED 200 resistors... You can wire the LED's in series... More on that later if you're interested.

well I'm not sure exactly how I'm using the 200 yet, I know how to solder though, besides I only gave 16.00 for all 400 parts 100 red 100 blue 200 resistors

just be aware that the longer lead is positive...and wire the resistors to the positive lead

aight, also gotta remember to mark the red/blue ones with different wires, and keep them seperate

Well hey now, let's get the LEDs he has working so he gets addicted and THEN moves on from there :D
Pretty much all the info you need has already been given. Solder the resistors onto the longer lead of the LED. Also good to put some heat shrink tubing over the soldered points for protection. Werd. Make sure to post up some pictures when you've got some installed!

ill bet money all the electronics can fit the pre 2008 models the new HUs do, even the new scion AVN.
from what i saw of those its just a harness that taps into a wire they show you on the install papers. and again same for the new Scion AVN, everything is included you just need to take the included wireing harness, mount the GPS antenna and tap into the parking break wire and the rev. signal wire coming out of the computer and your all set.
