alright guys, new to the threads but not new at building tcs lol. alright first, its boosted with a zpi stage 0 kit at 17 psi. i blew a rod out of the bottom end of the car long story basically the wastegate never relived the pressure causing it to den. so heres to a new beginning. iam wanting to put forged pistons and rods but i believe iam going to keep the stock bore with the stock crank, pushing about the same psi with a aem fic computer. iam wanting to get it tunned by ptuning sense he is one of the best for tuning tcs.. my questions would be can i get this motor built under 3k everything but the tune itself? also is there a better person for tuning or just as good as ptuning thats closer to md? thanks chris

How long did 17 psi hold up on the stock block?? Im sure not long... As for your build - there are folks making over 500whp with nothing more than pistons and rods on the bottom end. Our stock crank has been proven to take the beating and the stock sleeves are extremely durable. If you are truely shooting for over 500whp Id recommend going with like the Darton mid-sleeves - but for most build applications its simply not nessecary.

Well considering it sounds like you already have the turbo and fueling system needed to run it, 3k should be enough. Pistons, rods, bearings, studs, gaskets, and FIC would run you about 2K. Depending on how much work the block needs will determine how much it costs for machine work but your last K will be more than enough. This is asuming your doing all the work as far as teardown and asymbly. If your paying a shop to do this for you, your gonna need more than 3K to build it up.

wait, if you broke a rod your looking at more than that to fix your problems. your gonna need another motor first.
