Ok so I need an exhaust, and I pretty much have it narrowed down between the Tanabe Medalion Concept G and TRD's scion exhaust... Opinions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

if you are going for gains, neither of them are going to do the job.... since they are both just axle backs and deliver next to nothing performace wise....

i personally think that a cat back exhaust would do you more justice, but of course, more $$$ as well!

Basically its whichever one you think sounds better...do a youtube search for both and you can compare. TRD sounds sweet, but so does the Tanabe

Agency Power T1 full cat sounds great, but its about 600 bucks!

holla! :D

out of those 2 i would get the TRD. the tanabe gets too high pitched in the higher RPM range in some vids, and i dont like that.

I have the TRD right now and it stays real deep and growly, even more so now with the supercharger.

Tsudo Fireball Extreme Axleback, has a real nice tone to it and price is awsome. I just installed one on Rhino74s tC, and he loves it.

I would definately go with TRD. Looks great (especially the tip) and sounds like it's suppossed to (which means mot too loud). But don't buy it through Scion dealership (I did and I overpaid almost $200). Ok, they will install it for you but installation is not too difficult and there is no reason to pay for it $200). Go to http://trdsparks.com/displayparts.php?Mdl_dtl=474&Part_cat=2&parts_id=402 to check price.

Good luck!

If you wanna be different and original, go for the tanabe. Not many have it.

that is true, however i seem to be the only one with it in my chapter as far as i can tell, :p

Yeah, my budget isn't exactly where I would like it to be...(never is)...but I've researched alot and I'm still undecided (although I'm leaning a little bit towards the TRD)...would get a cat back if I had the $$$. All of your opinions have helped out alot, thanks!

Tsudo N1 Catback is the cheapest catback - it's ~$250

It's not TOO bad. I use the midpipe, myself...

do elaborate - I'd spend $250 on a catback in a heartbeat.

Is it 2.5"? mild steel or stainless?

What's so bad about it?

2.5" Stainless.

It's not the greatest quality or fitment, but it's a good value.

The midpipe is 2 sections instead of 1 long one (like the oem midpipe is). The axelback is a big angled coffee can exhaust with a silencer inside, which can be hard to remove.

I just searched youtube for videos of the n1 catback - it sounds amazing! And for $250 I can work around fitment issues.

And on that note - I'll sell you my TRD axleback for $250 + shipping (approximately $25). I'll PM you too in case you don't see this.

Adrian, check out my exhaust at the next meet. My muffler is from SpinTech and I had Golden Auto do the pipes. Zae has ridden in my car before, and Robert has heard my exhaust before, so maybe they can give you an idea of how it sounds. Its pretty deeeep. Altogether the cost was about $225.

Cat backs are cheap if you let the local shop do a custom one. When you compare the price from a axel to a full cat back

how long did it take to install your tanabe exhaust?

2dot4
08-03-2007, 12:28 PM
it takes 10 minutes max to install an axleback on the tc.

2 bolts, 3 hangers - no sweat.
