I just installed some OBX 4-2-1's on my friends box, and there's a slight increase in noise, but there's now a backfiring kind of sound when slowing down in gear.

Definetly a big mid range boost with the 4-2-1

The welds looked great on the OBX, and there were no fitment problems.

if your getting a backfire noise , its very posible you have an exhaust leak , that noise ( backfire ) happens when cold air gets sucked into the exhaust thru a leak , i would double check all my connections , because if the leak is close to the header flange it could damage the valves in the motor ..

I felt around, and couldn't feel anything. My hands were sweaty, so I would've known.

go to an exhaust shop and have them run the smoke test then you'll know if you have a leak

I have the Strup header and V2 exhaust and I noticed a small hp gain. The sound of the Strup V2 exhaust with the header is way too loud for me so I use a DC Sport silencer for long trips and when I want it to be quiet.
