Stillwater Scions 07 will be held in Stillwater, Ok. This event will start at 11:00am and end approx. 4:00pm on Sept. 15th, 2007. The event will be held at Eskimo Joe's Bar and Grill in the north parking lot. Along with having a car show for the scion owners, Kicker will have several show cars there Livin' Loud, XM satelite radio will be there to spice things up, and Janzen Toyota & Scion will be there to give out the prizes. I am currently checking with local motels for availability.

There will also be a Blues Festival going on downtown that evening if anyone wants to hang out. Its outdoors in the Community Center parking lot. The city of Stillwater welcomes all of us to hang out and would even be willing to shut down streets for us to park. We will also be giving away a few goodies that night down there from the drawing box at SS07. Here is the info::cool1:

It's about 4 hours up there from DFW, assuming the construction on I35 isn't backed up too bad. There's a somewhat scenic route up from the Plano side that skips the construction traffic, but it takes longer.

It was cold!! At least for awhile. It wasn't that bad if we had been prepared, a light jacket would have been enought.
For a 1st show not bad. I like a show this size for hanging with people, but I know they would want double this many. Here are my suggestions.
DJ is ok to have but they don't have to be so LOUD. We shouldn't have to shout to have a conversation. Decent music though.
Money prizes are great, I didn't give any back, but take some of that money and spend it on everyone, like food and or Tshirts. Forget Best Paint...lol.

I loved the Kicker FJ!!! The guys from Janzen Scion were awesome, so was the XM lady. Just hanging with eveyone made it worth it.

it really was an awesome show, this was my first scion only show and i thought it was great.

x2 on the dj being a little too loud for the size of the show. but the music was a lot better then other shows.

HELL YEAH!!!!!!!!!!

I have be honest with all of you, I didn't know what was going to happen come Sept. 15th. I had been trying since May to plan, pull together funds, and work all my connections to put this show together. With this being my first real scion event and first ever car show, I think it went well. I appreciate all of you for supporting us and accepting us into the Family. You guys all ROCK...... It was a bit smaller than we wanted but heck I'm not so sure now. I think you may get a little better community that way. Sorry for the music and the food. I spoke to my dealer and we will start planning the next event immediately... At the Dealership, with food and drinks, and we will open up our facilities to everyone. Probably a Spring Show to kick things in gear. So give me some more ideas:

Best day to have a show
Time of day
of course more prizes in smaller portions
food (burgers and dogs?) and drinks
music, games, events?

I took some notes talking to some of you this weekend, but if you want to see something in particular happen, let me know.

First off no apologies needed Randy. I've been helping dealers put on car shows for over 20 years, and you guys did great. I've been to VW dealer shows that the dealership would lock the bathroom doors, and make its supporters use the McDonald's across the street.:doh:

You did great on the time of day, and the length of the show. 11 - 4 was great.
The best thing I could suggest is to have our OKC & Tulsa ScIkoTiCs crew get with you at the dealership. They will gladly help you guys out. If we get enough Stillwater local Scion owners interested, we can start another chapter.

We like to meet up at our Scion dealers once in a while, usually on a Friday or Saturday night an hour or two before closing so your customers can see our rides parked in view. Like a mini car show. We have dealer sponsors we gather at at least once a month around the country.

Set them up with some drinks, or what ever you can, and you guys can discuss some great ideas and plan a great big once a year event, and even a few others at local businesses. Its a great non threating way to meet future car buyers. :wink:
