I have the TRD axle back on my car but it's really quiet. I was told there is a resonator on the front pipe but i am unsure if this is true as i have not had time to look. If there is will removing it ruin the tone i have or make the car too loud?

thanks.

It matters the car, sometimes it sounds good and loud and sometimes it sounds loud and ricey. either way its louder. Try it out. post a video too. BTW when it's time to get inspection go to a GOOD place. like where they look at your car in the parking lot and print you a tag off lol.

the XA motor need a bit of backpressure.
if there isn't, you lose low-end power. When I run straight exhaust at the track, my low end SUCKS. I have to rev the hell out of it to make power.

For a muffler, I run a Supertrapp. 9 discs will give a good combination of power & sound - NOT ricey at all. 15 discs are almost a straight exhaust & the low-end suffers.

AND I run a STRUP header

DO NOT REMOVE THE RESONATOR!!!! back pressure can be your friend.

on my 2nd gen xB I had the MUFFLER removed, leaving the resonator now it's straight pipe out the back. The sound is AMAZING!! much better than ANY aftermarket exhaust and a hell of a lot cheaper too. :)
