Well i'm trying to do at least 1 performance modification per paycheck.

I try to keep it between $150-$400

I'm saving up for the greddy turbo kit.

so far my car has injen cai, trd exhaust, and invidia s-pipe. (the s-pipe is off now, it was rattling and i couldn't stand it)

megan racing headers are due to arrive tuesday. (lets get the rasp on! :()

now, for my next 2 parts, i can't make up my mind what i want to order;

tanabe DF210 lowering springs + perrin adjustable short throw shifter

or

NST lightweight pulleys + perrin adjustable short throw shifter

or

NST lightweight pulleys + tanabe DF210 lower springs

2 things i can't stand about the tC right now is the ridiculous wheel gap that makes me cringe everytime i see my car and the horse penis sized huge throw stock shifter. then again these don't really do much for performance.

i'm fully aware of the risks involved in running the lightweight pulleys, it's all good though :-D

input?

I have the megan short shifter and love it. I have heard from several other people that they like theirs as well.

I dropped my car last summer on TRD's to get rid of the wheel gap and love them. I recommend lowering Scions as the first mod to do. It makes a huge impact on how the car looks.

I have had great luck with NST. They have a 3 pulley set that includes the crank pulley, alternator pulley, and a water pump pulley I believe. I have heard of no problems with putting these on even though the nay-sayers swear they will reduce the life of your engine.

Good luck with the future mods.

IMO the pulleys aren't worth it. Go for the springs and the short shifter. You'll see/feel more of a difference.

I hear the pulleys can do up to 10whp when combined with intake/header/exhaust, and even more so once boost is run.

the gain sounds nice but i think you're right krdshrk, if my header install goes well on tuesday i'm going to order the perrin short shifter and the tanabe DF210 springs. the tanabe is a 2.2" drop in the front, 1.7" drop in the rear, should have a really mean stance.

now that i think about it those are probably the first things i should've done before my intake/s-pipe/exhaust.

how does the spring installation go on the tC? if it's anything like my old civic i'm going to hate life the day i install them.

You're gonna need a breaker bar and lots of strength. The fronts aren't bad - it's easy to drop the suspension tower and get access to the springs. You need a spring compressor to put them on with though.

The rear springs are a pain - you have to get in under the floorboard in the trunk and actually remove the moulding from the sides of the trunk to gain access to the rear strut towers.

had to go through the same ordeal with my civic.

so looks like i'll have to clear my schedule for about 5-6 hours before i install those then, thanks for the heads up.

I know I still have nightmares from my Tein install.. :fu:

Just let me know when you want to install your springs Keith. It should only take 5-6 hours. It took me a lot longer the first time, but now that I know how to do it, we could get it done in about that time. The install sucks, but it is worth it once you drive it out of the garage and the wheel gap has shrunk considerably.

when i was at zpi some guy got a crank pully and he said the butt dyno showed an increase and for the price it may not be a bad thing

Yea, I have heard a lot of good things about the pullies. There have been so many times I almost bought them, but it always ended up going towards other mods.
