I Need Your Help!!!

I have a question for every tC owner........

1) Does your or has your tC experienced a rattle in the sunroof?
2) When you open the hatch or your tC, after rain or washing it, does the water come inside the car and fall into the back seats?

I need to prove my point to the Toyota Manufacture that this is not NORMAL manufacture if the tC. My 2007 has these problems where my 2005 did not.

Can you please help me by answering the 2 questions followed by the yr of your tC, so I can print this forum and show to the manufacture that there is a default with my car and they are wrong.

I have a '05 RS1 and I had rattling issues. My dealer took off my headliner, used double sided tape on everything that did or could move, and put the headliner back on. Haven't had rattle issues since.

As far as water running into the back of your hatch or rear seats, that is part of owning a hatch back. If you SLOWLY open the hatch when there is water on it, it will drain into the water channels. That is normal.

Normally I'd agree, but At asylum, I've opened my trunk after the rain (in a manner I do even when dry) and it rolled right down my channels.

I opened my hatch after the rain and it was fine. Went right down through the rain channels. If you open it up fast, the water will pool at the top and go into your back seats. I learned my lesson after I did that once. Slow is good.

I have neither of those issues. Actually at times I'm surprised water didn't run into my backseats.

no water, and the only time my sunroof rattles is when the bass is pounding, and even then, its not even really the sunroof, but the wind deflector itself

My sunroof rattles while open. I ignore it.

Water comes in when i open the hatch. I've learned to open it slowly for the water to drain out.... it's normal for me... I ignore it.

See thats my prob, opening it slow or fast it doesnt matter 1/2 the water goes down the channels the rest, well right to the back seats.

:lol: Whats funny Gina, after I talked to you about these problems on the phone that one day...I went for a drive and NOW my sunroof rattles when I drive, BUT my hatch is fine...I even sprayed it with a hose for you to see if it would, and no!! 2006 Scion tC....and BTW WHERE THE HELL YOU BEEN?!?!?! We need to talk missy!!!!

My moon roof wouldn't close properly so they sent out a Scion Engineer, District Manager and the Service Manager to find out what the problem was. They had to replace the sensor and tracks. It never made a rattle noise till they fixed it. So the Service manager out here said to bring it back in to go through it again.

The only reason whay they have never did a recall from what i was told by scion corp. is the people were not reporting the problem but just dealing with the noise or it not closing properly. I have had several scion tc owners that complained about the moon roof but said they never bothered to report it.

Never had the water problem though.

mine is a 06 scion tc that has been going back and forth for the moon roof. the service manager out here in stockton california is very nice and helpful in getting the moon roof fixed.

2007 Scion tC - I've owned it for 9 months

1) Never experienced any rattle in the sunroof.

2) Water does not fall directly into the backseat, although it does get everything in my trunk (underneath the hatch) wet, not soaked, just a lil wet. Not too big a deal though.

What about the stereo system? Any loud annoying pops when the bass hits hard??

no rattles in my 07 - in my 06 I had terrible rattles coming from the dashboard.

as far as the rain in the back seats, no - I do get rain that drains from the bottom of the rear window and pours into my trunk area, which is annoying as hell. I did notice that the hatch lifts on the 07 open a LOT slower than the 06 I had. Maybe to prevent the problem you're having?

Wait til it's raining, show up at the dealer and let them see it first hand. As far as the rattle, there's a service bulletin out for it so they know how to fix it and shouldn't give you trouble. If they do, go to another dealership because the one you're using sucks. Scion warranties are good at ALL dealerships.
