Interior light does not go off

My Interior light does not go off when you close the doors. It turns on, but the only way to turn it off is with the switch on the interior light it's self.
I have a 2006 Xb everything else works and no warning lights on the dash.
any help for this problem?

does the xB have a 3 position switch? I know on the xD and tC there is an on/door/off switch on the dome light. Putting it on "door" is what makes the light go off after you close the door. Maybe that part of yours is broken if that doesn't work.

Mine has the 3 position switch, on off and door.
On it stays on all the time
Off it is off all the time
Door it turns on when you move it to the door positon and stays on even when you close the door. It just never goes off, unless I move the swith to the off position.
It used to dim down then you closed the door then went off went off.

sounds like the door position switch is bad then.
prolly have to find a new or used dome light. should be able to find one on here or ebay that you could get for cheap.

your xB still under warranty though, right? take it to dealership if it is. It turns out it's the main light contron modual, as I unter stand it is like $450. I'm not replacing it. I have decited to part it out and sell it.
