I'm trying to make my own custom headlights to the point where I'm going to have to take the whole light assembly apart. I'm trying to attach a flexible LED light strip to the headlight, so when my headlights come on, the LEDs come on as well.
The way I understand it, there's around 14 volts going through the headlight...but the LED strip runs at 12 volts.
How do I go about connecting the two so I do not blow the LED strip?!

NP. I am thinking it would be resistors of some sort, but I'd have no clue as to size.

the led strips from oznium work just fine wired into your headlights. the voltage in your car is 12 volts nominal, meaning its "around" 12 volts. mine is around 14.4 most of the time and i have a crapload of leds in both my scions. if you are thinking of putting the side emitting led strips inside your headlight assmys, i dont recommend it, they arn't rated for the temps in your oven while baking them back together. i put mine on the outside and they turned out great.

I emailed Oznium about it to see what they say. Apparently I couldn't PM Phil on here so idk. Hopefully I'll have an email back.

I never thought about the oven :( Is there a way I could put my lights back together without using the oven?! Possibly just re-seal everything?!

I didn't know that you baked em back closed. I've seen DIYs say to bake em to open them but I've always seen to just silicon them to seal. Although I've never done anything to my headlights. Check around for tC DIYs. I think the one I read was on yoursciontc.com

All you need is to wire up your LED's to the 194 dummy bulb and you can put it in your run light socket. That way when you turn your lights on, the LED's come on too. This also helps you keep your warranty since you're not splicing any stock wires.
As for baking back together, yes, you'll want to place the lens and housing in the oven for a bit to get them a little warmed up. Then before putting together, add some additional silicone to create a good seal.
Hope that helps some.

That's an amazing idea! I'll have to look into that as well. With a little ingenuity, you might be able to put that LED strip in through that running light hole and wire it to that running light. No baking required!

You don't sound dumb, we'll just call you a n00b, haha! Your light switch has three positions not including high beams, off (1), running lights only (2), and on (3). If you set it to position 2, you can see where your running lights are. I haven't looked close enough on the xBs, so I can't say exactly where they are right now. With the tC, they're the little yellowish light in the bottom of the high beam.
The Oznium dome lights (inside lights on the ceiling) come with dummy bulbs so you have an assortment to use for your specific application. For more info, check out their website and watch the videos for their super flux dome lights.

They all have the same plug in the center of them, but then you can use whatever size/type needed then plug your LED stuff into the socket in the center. They are more like adapters than bulbs in this sense. Does that help?
