What brand shifters do you recommend?
What brand lowering springs? (about 1/4in drop)
What brand exhaust? (looking for something not to noisey, but a bassy rumble in idle - I miss my 91 talon's sound)
I'm looking economical right now. Around the $100 mark

I have the TWM Performance SS. I like it a lot. $124.
I just got a used TRD Exhaust for 200. sounds good. I too did not want one too loud and obnoxious. The injen CAI copleents the exhaust well. I got that on a SL Group buy from Kieth of Illusive customs, Now a scikotic supporter.
I want lowering springs. probably go with TRD.

I dont know if you can get any of these for $100.

Ok, you ready for this? I researched and checked all the possibilities when I bought my stuff, and I went for some parts that aren't on everyone else's tC's ...

Exhaust? I went with the Injen SES, although only axle-back, I have full intention of either getting Strup Header and locally made s-pip and straight mid, or going with the megan Monster Header/S-pipe package w/ locally made straight mid pipe. It is louder than some of the others, but deep tone. If you want quieter, TRD is pretty standard affairs, but I like the Greddy SP2 in looks and sound.

Shifter? TWM is again, probably the standard issue part, they have 2, standard not-so short shifter, and then the State 2 which is the nominal 35% reduction and far shorter shifter shaft. I, personally, went with the ARK Speed Racing shifter, also promises the 35% throw reduction, though the shaft length is just short of stock, in fact if you use the replacement bushing on the housing base, you can't even tell the difference at first. I think Creative Compacts makes a really good shorty too, much cheaper than the others. Oh ... downside to the ARK, dealers are limited, and the price is a bit more than some of the others.

Now on Springs, TRD is common, I like the Tein H-Techs. Neither is a drastic drop, but they do even up the gaps int he fender wells without compromising much ride comfort. I'm looking to score a set of H-Tech's, I've seen for as little as 115 shipped, though I thinkt hat was a limited deal.

Tein H-tech and S-techs are more of a drop than TRD's. S-techs are the cheapest springs at about $130. S-techs are a really low drop though. The springs with the least amount of drop are the Hotchkis, I believe.

As for exhaust, the TRD Exhaust gives a nice rumble. With my Umnitza CF intake, it sounds soooooo nice... front and back. TRD isn't the cheapest, though, and it's only axleback. Plus it tends to sound bad when a header is added on.

TRD is never the cheapest lol. They don't call is a Totally Retarded Discount for nothing. TRD exhaust is the Borla yea? Might be worth looking into that also

TRD exhaust is made by Borla.

The actual Borla exhaust for the tC is QUIET.

If your not looking for a 2" drop go with h-tech... hotchkis will lower you more then h-techs once they settle.

It all depends on what you want.

You want show...

Well get a good stance on the car (lowered)
Rims
Somthing that sets you apart... Me I got the powerslot big rotor kit...
And get a intake...
and exhaust.

If you want somthing let me know I can see what kind of package deal I can get you. More you buy at once the better the deal can be cause of shipping.

Right now a money thing is questionable. But I'm scraping stuff together so maybe I can do something.

The TRD exhaust gives a good deep note until you pair it with a header........then it becomes raspy and loud......

Short Shifter - I have the Creative Compacts SS at only $65 and its an awesome SS for the price, never had any problems with getting into gears or anything, it was a breeze to install also.

Springs - I have the S-Techs, but thats too low for what you want, it drops the car 2.4" and 2". You would probably then be better off getting the H-Techs, its a little more drop than you would like but it gives the car a better stance and looks good also.

Exhaust - I have the Megan Cat-Back exhaust, the Drifter Style. It's a very low rumble and does not get raspy at all, I have not added their header or s-pipe yet(no more money left). Some people have said that it sounds like a WRX exhaust, I can kinda hear it but its not on a WRX, its a tC, so I dunno how they sound alike?!?!
This was $300 shipped from Cali, but the price has gone up a bit from when I got mine a couple of months ago.

The only thing that you can really get under $100 is the Short Shifter, unless you find someone that is selling their stuff used for a really good price. Save up some cash and get some good new stuff, Keith is the man, he will hook you up real good. I think I got my intake from Keith, I know I got something from him, but don't remember what.
