tC Vent removal help

Can someone offer me a hint as to how I remove the left and right side dashboard vents in my tC? I tried to pry one off from the side and it snapped real easy. Is there a trick to this? I can probably glue it before painting but I don't want to cause further damage. They cost over 70 Bux.

I talked to a few guys in the service department where I work and they said the way to do it is to pull the dash pad off and they will pop right out. But they also said if you pry on it really easy on both sides they should come off

Exactly. I had the same problem until I used a flat-head to pry it out. Pry a little on one side, then the other until it pops out. Once out you can pop the vent away from the trim ring by unclicking the 4 or 5 clips on the back.

yep... i just pry lightly, i used a long flat head screwdriver...
