Hi xA lovers!
I have a 2006 xA and i would like to figure out how to rig it so the light that comes on in the Auxiliary Box when the doors are open will stay on all the time, or at least when the dashboard light are on. Anyone got any ideas??

i was going to do this, but I believe all you have to do is find the wire that the light is connected to and tap into your dash lights. That way it will be on all the time.

There is a lighting wire under center console that is used for the cup holder LEDs and if you tie to that the light will come on with headlights.

I dont believe that there is a cupholder illumination wire under the center console on the 06 xA.. Plus the cupholder lights are supposed to be controlled with a switch that the dealer installs....just like the lighting upgrade.....I may be wrong but I have had my center console out many times and still havent found this wire.

A couple of thoughts on this...

If you decide to have your storage box light on all the time, switch it to an LED. I know someone who wired their light to be on all the time, and it melted the plastic on the top of the storage box. They make and assortment of 194 LED lights, i think i got mine at pep boys.

I intend to wire a pressure switch to the top of the storage box, where the door rests when its open, so it will turn on the lights when the doors open and off when its closed. There are more openings in the top part of the storage box next to the hole for the 194 lap, ill probably mount some leds there for this project so as to have both lighting set ups, (factory and on when open). I might tap the ignition wire or 12v on running to my underbody kit control, depending on if i decide i want to be able to activate the lights without the key or not.

I just changed my light out with blue LEDs and there is more than enough room for extras in there
